Welcome aboard our roller disco time machine, where we’re about to embark on a groovy journey back to the far-out days of 1980, when Venice Beach was the epicenter of all things cool, and the air was filled with the pulsating beat of disco fever. As the curtain rises, prepare to be transported to a world where the neon lights of the boardwalk illuminate the night sky and the scent of salty sea air mingles with the unmistakable aroma of hairspray and nostalgia. Xanadu bursts onto the stage in a whirlwind of vibrant colors, flashy costumes, and infectious energy, capturing the essence of a bygone era while still resonating with audiences today.
At the heart of our story is Kira, the “Australian” muse of history, and Sonny Malone, a dreamer with a vision to create the ultimate roller disco paradise. Together, they embark on a roller-coaster ride filled with love, laughter, and plenty of roller-skating shenanigans. But hold onto your hats because that’s not all. We also have Danny McGuire, who doubles as the legendary Zeus himself, adding a touch of mythic grandeur to our tale. And let’s not forget Calliope and Melpomene, muses with their own agendas, weaving a tapestry of comedy and tragedy throughout the narrative, like, totally blowing our minds, man.

This Tony Award-nominated, hilarious, roller skating, musical adventure follows the journey of a magical Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – a ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it’s 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.
