On Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at approximately 1:15pm, Lubbock Fire Rescue received a 911 call in reference to a possible structure fire near the 2100 block of 32nd Street. The 911 caller advised that they could see smoke coming from the windows of the residence. Engine 6 was the first unit on scene and advised that they did have a confirmed structure fire with smoke showing. Crews then made entry for fire suppression and primary search. Upon making entry into the structure, LFR crews rescued 2 individuals and 1 dog from the structure. Both individuals were transported to UMC Hospital.

The dog and 1 individual have succumbed to their injuries and the other individual remains in critical condition. Lubbock Fire Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office remains  investigating the cause of this fire.
