BOSTON – Jacob Mechler capped off his first NCAA Indoor Championships in 10th place with a throw of 21.80m (71-6 ¼) en route to Second Team All-American honors Thursday evening at the TRACK at New Balance.

 

Mechler’s first throw landed in at 21.65m (71- ½) before he fouled his second attempt. His third attempt of 21.80m was good for ninth – the final spot needed to advance to the finals – but Parker of Southeast Missouri edged him on his final throw at 22.13m (72 7 ½) for the ninth spot.
