LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech baseball’s Gabe Holt, Josh Jung and Grant Little have all been named to the Perfect Game/Rawlings All-America award lists, the publication announced today.

Jung & Little both received third team honors, while Holt landed on the honorable mention squad. Tech is one of six schools nationally with three representatives and the only Big 12 program. It is the third outlet to honor Jung & Little this year, as Collegiate Baseball Newspaper & Baseball America both put the duo on their second team lists. Holt has also been named to two Freshman All-America teams.

The trio gives Tech five all-time winners from Perfect Game, as Eric Gutierrez picked up third team accolades in 2016 and Steven Gingery was a first team honoree last season.

Jung, the third baseman from San Antonio, leads the team in several offensive categories heading into the College World Series, topping the squad in batting average. He also paces the Red Raiders in hits (92), RBI (78) and runs scored (68). Jung leads the conference in each of those categories, while ranking fourth in the country in RBI.

Earlier this season, Jung recorded the program’s first cycle in a decade, making him the sixth Red Raider to do so. His was the first to do so with a 5-for-5 day at the plate, with two homers, along with eight RBI.

Little, an outfielder from Midland, has also started all 62 games of the year and trails only Jung or Holt on offense both on the team & in the Big 12. He heads into the CWS with 87 hits, 73 RBI and 61 runs to go with a team-high 24 doubles and 12 homers.

Little also made history this year, throwing down the team’s only nine-RBI performance of the year and third in school history. He rattled off two homers, including a grand slam along with two other base hits, to become the first Red Raider since 1984 with nine RBI in a game. He also had the first five-hit game of the year at Louisville on March 13 and launched two dingers again at Oklahoma State on May 18.

Holt, from Bonaire, Georgia, has racked up 90 hits, which ranks second on the squad, is tied for the team-lead with Jung in runs scored with 68, and has totaled 41 RBI in his first season with the scarlet & black.

He’s totaled 29 multi-hit games this season, which ranks second on the team, including eight games with three knocks. He also has 12 multi-RBI contests while producing the longest reached-base safely streak of the year, doing so in each of the first 29 games of the 2018 campaign.

The Red Raiders open the NCAA College World Series on Sunday, June 17, against Florida at 6 p.m. on ESPN2 at T.D. Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
