LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech hung tough with the No. 1 team in the country on Sunday afternoon despite an 11-1 final score.

The Red Raiders (21-8, 2-4) were within arms-length for the majority of the game as Oklahoma (27-1, 6-0) led 2-1 heading into the fifth inning before the Sooners put up nine runs over the final three innings.

Tech recorded seven hits from seven different players but the Sooners pitching and defense stepped up in key spots to shut down any attempt at a comeback.

UP NEXT: The Red Raiders will travel to Ames, Iowa to take on Iowa State beginning on Friday, March 22.
