The Silent Wings Museum invites the community to join us in honoring the veterans of the United States Military on Monday, November 11, 2024. Enjoy free admission from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A solemn ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. The Estacado High School Color Guard will open the commemoration ceremony. The Honorable Mayor Mark McBrayer will honor all our nation’s veterans with the City of Lubbock Veterans Day Proclamation, followed by Dr. Ron Milam who will discuss the significance of this date in world history and our national identity. A special performance by the All Saints Episcopal School Children’s Choir will celebrate the accomplishments of those who serve.

After the ceremony, educational activities will be available all afternoon including the opportunity to make a poppy in remembrance of our nation’s military veterans, and interactive activities to better understand the geography of glider operations during World War II.

This event made possible with the generous support of the Helen Jones Foundation, Inc.
