Children’s Miracle Network is a huge part of our radio family here at Alpha Media! Every year we strive to hit a goal for CMN to help assist UMC hospital for medical assistance, supplies and equipment. The Beat hosts Miracle Pennies as a part of Children’s Miracle Network with Lubbock ISD and surrounding schools. Every year we get about 25 schools and we challenge them to hit a different goal every year! back in 2016 I challenged the schools to a goal of $40,000 in pennies with a chance to have the winning schools Principle shave my head if the goal was hit! Sounds crazy right?! I was sure hoping they would hit 39,999.99 but it was far to much hard work because we hit $48,000! so needless to say Idalou Middle School were the winners and their principal got to shave my head! The years have gone by and we have done other crazy stuff but this year is different. IDK maybe because its a new decade but this year hitting it full force I let the participating kids know that if we hit our pennies goal of $55,000 1 lucky High School will get a free DJ for their prom and 1 middle school or elementary will get a party with The Beat! In amazement I have had schools reach out to me to get us to help raise their goals. I have to give a shout out to Amherst ISD they came together to have me host the half court basketball shot for a chance to win $50 then Terra Vista Middle school cheer team asked I could help them with joining them on their fundraiser! As you can see The Beat is all about the kids, community and CMN! so again shout out to Amherst ISD and Terra Vista Middle School for letting us team up with you guys to help reach your CMN goals!
So Thank You to all the schools participating this year on our $55,000 goal! Lets help UMC Children’s Miracle Network continue helping kids and families with their services!
